Welcome to the new EGNOS-Africa JPO experts

In June, Ata OLORI and Richard GATETE joined the EGNOS-Africa Joint Project Office in Dakar, Senegal.

Ata OLORI  was a space based research engineer and has been involved in a various pilot project initiatives for the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), like the first ever Tele-medicine network established for the Ministry of Health and a Tele-education network established for the Ministry of education, all in Nigeria. Until his appointment as the “Sister” Applications expert he worked as a project supervisor for the ongoing GNSS CORS network installation in NASRDA. He holds a bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a Specialized Master’s Degree in GNSS and Related Applications from the Politecnico Di Torino in Italy.

Richard graduated from Kigali Institute of Science and Technology with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Electromechanical Engineering, specialty in Electronics& Telecommunications in 2005. He began his career with a Private Firm in the Renewable Energy Sector as a system design, installation and maintenance Engineer from 2006 to 2007 before joining Rwanda Civil Aviation Authority.  Before his appointment at the JPO as GNSS expert, he worked for 7 years first as surveillance& communication systems maintenance Engineer and later as Senior CNS Engineer: Maintenance and Planning. He also holds a Master of Science Degree in Communications Management from the University of Rwanda.
